Research

The research undertaken within the field of Intermedia Studies is multi- and interdisciplinary in character, and partly characterized by the special interests of the individual researchers. These are popular-cultural phenomena such as how words, images and sound interact in commercials and music videos, text-image transformations gathered under the classic-rhetorical concept ekphrasis, narrativity in music, the historical and contemporary interplay between words, images and sound, the history of the intermediality of rhetoric, the total work of art, performance/performativity, audio narratives, etc. Often these research areas deals with different processes of meaning production.
