Research

I am professor of literary studies at the Centre for Languages and Literature.

My main field of research is literature and the public sphere.

Currently I'm PI for the trans-disciplinary project SHARP - Shared Reading After Pain Rehabilitation. SHARP aims at exploring the effects and feasibility of Shared Reading, a group based reading and literature promotion initiative, targeting people with chronic non-cancer pain being treated at Skåne University Hospital, Lund.

Between 2013 and 2017 I have been working on the project "Negotiating Literary Value: Sweden 2013", financed by The Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Fund. The aim of the project has been to develop an up-to-date understanding of the nature of literary value, and how it is created, by investigating today's Swedish literary field and book-market, which have undergone substantial changes in recent decades. In modern society, literature is credited with great social, cultural, and existential value.
