Research

My academic work is the evaluation of policies to advance low-carbon energy technology, its uptake and its use. It combines the assessment of top-down national policy approaches to foster the development and uptake of these technologies with the bottom-up study of behaviroural aspects. I draw on methods and approaches from both environmental and behavioural economics, including multicriteria evaluation, decomposition analysis, econometrics, surveys, experiments and simulation. My work takes a critical stance on the promises of Green Growth and the focus of policy interventions on markets (and their failures).
