Research

My research revolves around different aspects of globalization and regional integration. The main focus is on trade and foreign direct investment and some of my work has dealt with economic integration with a special focus on the European Union (EU). Currently, I am focusing on the behavior and organization of firms with international linkages.

4. Briefly describe development work in education – renewal of curriculum and/or pedagogical development:

The advanced course in economic integration (NEKN71) was updated by focusing more on new developments in international trade, i.e. the breaking up of regional integration areas and effects of migration.

The curriculum for the trade theory course (NEKH72) was updated by also including recent development in trade theory such as the model of heterogenous firms.

The material for the exercises and assignments on NEKA12 has been substantially renewed.

The structure of the SASE31 has been changed and is now consisting of two distinct parts – one microeconomic part and one international trade part.

The new course in international economics (NEKA64) has been developed along with the course SASE31
