At present, three research projects are at hand. The first is a complex and for many people controversial attempt to write the history of Communism and National Socialism as one entangled historical narrative, within the framework of a large national and international scholarly network. The second is a project on learning processes of history in present-day Swedish society, carried out together with four colleagues from Lund. My double task is to keep together the theoretical framework and to analyse learning processes in Swedish political life. The third, long-term project is to write the genealogical history of post-Communist Russia, focusing on the history used by Russian collectives for orientating and sense-making purposes in the eras of Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin.
