  1. Inequality and economic change 1500–1900, a broad research program on wealth and income in the Nordic countries.
  2. The roots of economic growth in the agrarian sector. Was it market driven or driven by institutional change in the 1800s? What was the role of property rights, socioeconomic status, gender and geography? What was the role of peasant politics? These issues are also studied in a comparative and collaborative project between Sweden and Germany.
  3. The manorial systems in the Baltic area and the special case of extant landed aristocracy in Sweden.
