The aim is to understand how planets form in the disk around young stars, so how the dust-sized particles can grow into large kilometre sized objects. We study how the barriers in the initial steps of the formation process can be overcome via the drafting and streaming instabilities. These instabilities are the result of gas and dust interaction and ideally produce particle over-densities, thus overcoming the growth barriers.
