My research work mainly focuses on modelling and control of urban wastewater systems. Urban wastewater systems are highly dynamic and non-linear systems and hence pose significant challenges when trying to undertand and exploit their functionality using traditional static engineering approaches. Dynamic models are of great help to understand the system behaviour and hence are used widely to assess the performance and also evaluate control strategies for wastewater treatment plants and other urban wastewater infrastructure.
My current work focuses on developing a system-wide benchmark simulation model that can be used to evaluate integrated control strategies with a holistic view to improve the receiving water quality.
