After obtaining Master of Education in Southwest University, China, I started my PhD study at Division of Education, Department of Sociology from 2014. And the title of my project is "Education and Ethnicity: Academic Discussion, Teacher Education and Local Practices". This compilation includes three articles in:
The first article is about literature review on research of Education and Ethnicity in China between 1990 to 2014. It is forthcoming, Wang, W. (2018). Researching Education and Ethnicity in China: A Critical Review of the Literature between 1990 and 2014. Frontier of Education in China, 13(2), forthcoming.
The second article is about how schools and teachers in Chinese ethnic minority areas (I focus on ethnic Dai and Tujia in Southwest China, which their assimilations into the mainstream are opposite) implement ethnic minority culture in school practices (include school activities and classroom-teaching). This article is now in the peer-review process.
The third article bases on the analysis on the syllabuses of two teacher education programs and interviews with teacher educators for exploring how teacher education in China incorporate multicultural ethnic minorities into programs as well as underlying external influential forces.
