The study aims to examine and analyse a collection of short stories by Egyptian women writers produced in the period from the Egyptian revolution on January 2011 onwards. This is a highly dynamic period, where the country has witnessed a number of political and social transformations. These changes have taken a variety of forms in restructuring the community socially, culturally, intellectually, and economically. The radical developments experienced since the revolution have led us to wonder how such societal transformations have appeared and been reflected in the work of Egyptian female writers. We wish to investigate the extent of influence these far-reaching transformations may have had on their writing, on the one hand, and on the other, how this literature contributes by representing specific transformations that female writers want to see in Egypt.
