Person och roll
Beskrivning The Apophthegmata Patrum (Verba Seniorum) are among the most widely spread and used texts of the Christian tradition. Originating in fifth century Egypt and Palestine they were organized in a variety of collections in all languages of Christianity throughout the Middle Ages. With their background in late antique school tradition they have played a decisive role in monastic formation and thus in the educational history of Europe in general. The fluid character of the collections and the processes of transmission reveal important developments in the intellectual history of Europe. The workshop is a forum for discussion on how to study use this material and for a better understanding of these developments and what possibilities new digital technology offers
