The talk introduces Active Learning pedagogy and practices of immediate vaule to the social sciences. The student-centred learning pedagogy of Active Learning provides the perfect antidote to the challenges of AI by shifting lecturer-driven teaching and assessment away from summative written exams and towards formative participatory assessment. These activities include flipped classrooms, student response systems, jigsaw cooperative learning, and reflective formative assessments.
