AI governance and the pacing problem: How does law capture the moving AI target?

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Being a lawyer that holds two PhDs, Stefan leads a highly interdisciplinary research group that studies issues of AI governance with autonomous and AI-driven technologies in domains ranging from the public sector, to consumer markets, medicine and social robotics.

In his presentation, he’ll show how studying societal impacts of emerging technologies in essence means to constantly learn new things. He will give an overview over how the new European AI Act struggles with the regulation of a moving AI-field, concerned with biases and risks of disinformation, by introducing elements of flexibility in rather novel concepts like general purpose AI.
