AbstractThis seminar will provide an overview of new and proposed EU rules related to AI. In April 2021, the European Commission proposed the first ever specific legal framework on AI - the so-called AI Act. The Act aims to address risks of specific uses of AI, categorising them into 4 different levels: unacceptable risk, high risk, limited risk, and minimal risk. A purpose with the rules is to stimulate trust in the use of AI. The negotiations, within and among the EU institutions, on the AI Act is in its final stages. In addition, other rules related to AI has recently been adopted or proposed, such as the Digital Services Act and a directive on AI liability.
