Description

CEC Research Seminar - An interdisciplinary view on air pollution and its impact on health and welfare in the Nordic countries

As our second speaker for the CEC Research Seminars series, we welcome Camilla Geels from the Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University, Denmark, and currently guest researcher at the Pufendorf Institute as part of the theme “The air we breathe”.

Abstract: By combining detailed air pollution modelling with unique health registers and socio-demographic data for the Nordic region, the NordicWelfAir project is exploring the potential for improving our understanding of the negative impacts of air pollution – for both the human health and the society in general. This requires an interdisciplinary approach. I will present an overview of the methods applied and give some highlights of the results coming out of this on-going project.

Moderator: Erik Swietlicki, Professor at Nuclear physics.
