Description
Mistrust in media and journalists is increasing, as journalistic content competes with a wide range of content. This challenge is particularly evident in turbulent times when the news is dominated by war, conflict, and polarised political debates. For foreign correspondents, this affects how complex issues are reported, complicating the presentation of nuanced stories to a diverse audience with varying levels of background knowledge.
Samir Abu Eid, Middle East correspondent for SVT and honorary doctor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University, will share insights from his daily life as a journalist reporting from the Middle East. In his role, more time is dedicated to live reporting in short time frames and engaging with audiences through live chats.
