Dementia among the elderly is a growing public health concern characterized by cognitive impairment (CI). The role of diabetes, hypertension and other potential factors in cognitive impairment need to be researched more for them to be widely established as risk factors in clinical practices. This understanding will help frame health policies encouraging cognitive assessment at follow-ups of target risk groups.
