In times of escalating global environmental crises and subsequent troubling emotional experiences, it is imperative to understand the psychological mechanisms through which people cope. Connecting with nature has been proposed as one possible resilience factor against the experience of troubling emotions, yet has also been found to be positively related to experiences of climate anxiety and impairment. In this talk, I will present two studies that approach eco-anxiety and connecting with nature from different perspectives to shed further light on their relationship.
