This presentation provides a critical examination of what the EU has done to implement the UN Agenda on Women, Peace and Security in its own activities. In this regard, it considered, firstly, whether there has been an improvement of the participation and representation of women in relevant decision-making organs of the EU as well as in crisis management missions. Secondly, it discussed the degree to which a gender perspective has been incorporated into EU activities geared towards the maintenance and reconstruction of peace in external conflict situations.
