No point in beating around the bush: You need to write your first VR-ansökan (application to the Swedish Research Council) at some point in your academic career. And we all know how hard the competition is. It takes a certain… something… to catch the reviewers’ eyes. So:

How do you capture the gist of an ambitious application in a few pages? How can you define goals in an endeavour as open-ended as academic research? How do you argue for impact given the many ways in which it can be defined and measured? And how can you develop a narrative that is clear, concise, coherent and compelling at all levels of discourse?
