Description
The HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area) Joint Research Programme (JRP) Public Spaces: Culture and Integration in Europe Conference brings together consortia of project leaders, principal investigators and associated (non-academic) partners to meet with members of the HERA network, evaluation panel members, previously funded HERA project leaders, humanities research policy makers and the general public. The conference aims to showcase the research of the HERA programme in order to raise the profile of the humanities among national research councils in the EU and to develop an understanding of how HERA research can enhance, and add value to, the broader European research landscape.
By engaging with the theme of Humanities in Crisis/ Crisis in Humanities, the conference programme aims to place HERA at the forefront of European debates about the humanities, encouraging discussions about issues relating to cultural value and heritage alongside themes which examine migration, conflict, and the changing nature of the public sphere.
In addition, the event will create a platform for Early Career Researchers to disseminate their work and engage in career development opportunities.
