CMES PhD researcher Joel W. Abdelmoez recently returned from fieldwork in Tunisia, where he, among other things, visited the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) in Tunis. The trip to Tunisia is part of Joel's doctoral research work on feminist activism and gender politics in Tunisia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Tunisia has a long history of women's rights activism, but this tends to be made invisible when too much focus is placed on European feminism.
