Swedish-Iraqi Studies Network SISNET at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies CMES organized on August 8, 2020, a virtual scientific workshop attended by more than 150 doctors, researchers and those interested in the Coronavirus.
The workshop: Proposal to treat COVID-19-induced inflammation presented by Raed Mahdi, a doctoral student at Faculty of Medicine, Lund University and a researcher in the Swedish-Iraqi Studies Network included:
1. Introduction.
2. Coronaviruses.
3. Mechanism of infection and immune response.
4. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs).
5. Cystic fibrosis and NETs formation in the lung.
6. COVID-19, NETs formation, and suggestions for targeting COVID-19-induced infection.
