Gina Song Lopez (宋芝蘭) is a PhD candidate at the Centre for East and South-East Studies at Lund University. Her research project focuses on the spread of veganism in the Sino-cultural context. Her interest in this topic draws from the environmental politics of food, and the emergence of modern sustainability and animal advocacy discourses in the region. In the talk “Translating compassion and veganism: The case of animal advocacy in the Sino-cultural sphere” she will focus on the ‘travel’ of animal rights and veganism to Taiwan and China.
