Anterior chamber of the eye (ACE) imaging platform

Infrastructure

Infrastructure Details

Acronym

ACE intravital imaging platform

Description

The ACE imaging technique makes cells or tissue optically accessible by grafting a small number of ‘reporter cells/tissue’ into the eyes of mice. The direct visualization in a variety of tissues transplanted into the ACE provides a platform to screen drugs by performing long-term follow up and monitoring in target tissues. Because of its versatility, tissue/cell transplantation into the anterior chamber of the eye benefits also other in vivo applications to study physiological and pathophysiological processes such as signal transduction, cancer, allograft-rejection or autoimmune disease development.
