    Description

    Supplier of cryogenic liquids, liquid helium and liquid nitrogen.

    Equipment and resources

    1) A helium liquefier, producing and storing liquid helium. 2) A recovery system for helium gas connected to the liquefier. Mainly used in the physics building, but also connected to the chemistry center and BMC. 3) A nitrogen liquefier, producing liquid nitrogen from air.

    Services provided

    Liquid nitrogen, mainly in the user's own dewar. Liquid helium, including the possibility to borrow a dewar.

    Terms of loan/booking

    Available for loan - internal and external

    Internal users can buy both liquid helium and liquid nitrogen at cost price. External users can also buy both liquids at a price including university overhead costs.

    The facility is funded directly by the users who pays a price per liter of liquid. The facility also buys back recovered helium gas.
