LUCCS
The facility is one of two facilities in the world dedicated to raven cognition. It contains three large aviaries and several testing areas. One heated house is attached to the station (with a basic toilet) which can be used by researchers, also for overnight stays. Additionally, there is a lecture hall that houses 25 people, which is used for various courses, meetings and workshops. The facility also has a “kitchen” for food preparation to the animals, as well as a dedicated aviary for potentially injured or sick birds.
The facility is not part of, but closely collaborates with the other existing raven cognition facility (Vienna University, Austria).
This infrastructure is closely tied to the primate research station in Furuvik. Much research is done by comparing apes and ravens. The combination is unique, and attracts a lot of international interest for positions and collaborations. Both facilities are founded by the person who filled in this form.
The facility has several video cameras of various sorts (including heat cameras), which is the main technical equipment used in the research. The facility also has a workshop with tools for making experimental apparatuses. And materials necessary for the maintenance of the ravens (e.g. refrigerators and freezers)

The infrastructure is managed by a scientific director, who in turn answers to the board of the Philosophy department.
