SIP
SIP contains four separate databases. The first (SIP-EXIT) focuses on individuals’ later parts of the life course and contains the total population in Sweden born 1930-1980, as well as all their parents and siblings. The second database (SIP-ENTRY) focuses on early careers and life course transitions and contains the total population in Sweden born 1973-1995 as well as their parents and siblings. The third database (SIP-INTEGRATION) is presently being delivered, containing a population of all first-generation immigrants residing in Sweden during the follow-up period, in addition to native born Swedes with native born parents. The fourth database (SIP-SEGREGATION) will be delivered during the first half of 2024, based on the Ethical approval 2023-06435-01.
All four databases contain detailed demographic, socioeconomic and health information from different official registers:
SCB: Flergenerationsregistret (family links), Registret över totalbefolkningen (RTB, demographic data, Yrkesregistret, Utbildningsregistret, Folk- och bostadsräkningarna 1960-1990, Förmögenhetsregistret, RAMS (work place)
Socialstyrelsen: Dödsorsaksregistret, In- och utpatientregistret, Medicinska födelseregistret
Pensionsmyndigheten: Pension savings
Försakringskassan: MiDAS (Sickness absence and pre-retirement)
Computer servers and data storage are provided to users, as well as software for data analysis. The database if physically located at SCBs MONA system.
Digital data
Data and documentation of the data. Researchers affiliated with the Centre for Economic Demography get support with data management and extraction of data.
Overall steering by the board of the Centre for Economic Demography. Operational management by the PI and a data manager.
