    Swedish National Data Service

    Description

Swedish National Data Service (SND) has a primary function to support the accessibility, preservation, and reuse of research data and related materials. Together with a network of around 40 universities and public research institutes, SND form a national infrastructure for open access to research data. The goal is to make access to research data as "open as possible, as closed as necessary
SND is run by a consortium consisting of nine universities: University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology, Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Lund University, Stockholm University, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, UmeƄ University, and Uppsala University. University of Gothenburg is the host university of SND, and the consortium head office is located in Gothenburg.

    Equipment and resources

As part of the SND consortium, Lund University has appointed local Domain Specialists. The domain specialists are experts in various scientific fields or in areas of research data management. They function as a bridge between groups of researchers and the research community at large, on the one hand, and between the data repository and the local units for research data support, Data Access Units (DAUs), on the other hand.
The LU DAU support LU Researchers with DORIS (SND Data Organisation and Information System), a tool where researchers describe and share research data, the DAU also provides researchers with persistent identifiers and offers support in data management.

    Digital and physical collections

DORIS is a resource where researchers can publish research data and make them accessible. The system can be used throughout the entire process, from describing and uploading research data, to requesting and reviewing data requests.
