Unit profile

Research

Airway infections are one of the most common infectious diseases. The research group focuses on different aspects of airway infections, especially in pulmonary conditions associated with impaired innate immunity in the airways, such as cystic fibrosis (CF) and lung transplant recipients. The projects address issues such as biomarkers for bacterial infection in airway samples, how innate immunity functions in the CF airway, and how colonizing bacteria adapt to the airway environment.
