Unit profile

Description

At the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, we conduct research and provide education that highlights both fundamental and applied questions concerning the Earth’s past, present and future climate and environment. We also study how humans affect nature and how these changes, in turn, influence our wellbeing. The department develops and uses advanced methods, models and technologies, including within environmental science, quaternary and bedrock geology, palaeontology, physical geography, biodiversity and ecosystem science, remote sensing, geographic information science (GIS) and computational science in the field of environment and health. Together, these tools enable us to study processes ranging from the microscopic to the planetary scale, across all time spans.

The research data displayed on this page reflects work produced after the formation of the new department.
