More about us

Our research contributes to identifying health risks in the work and surrounding environment, eliminating these risks, and preventing ill health. The focus is on the following research areas:

  1. The work environment
What is the importance of the physical, social, and organizational work environment for health?

  2. The surrounding environment
What is the significance of exposures in the surrounding environment such as chemicals, air pollution, noise, and metals during different time windows in life for health?

  3. Planetary health
What significance do, for example, climate change and pandemics have on health?

  4. Lifestyle factors
Is there an association between lifestyle factors (e.g., tattoos, diet, snuff) and health?

In our research, medical, epidemiological, technical-analytical and field skills are combined with the use of registers and biobanks.
