Unit profile

Research

EPI@LUND seeks answers to urgent social issues by combining modern epidemiological methodology with detailed population data at the individual level, or with genetic/epigenetic data in combination with bioinformatic analyzes. Research in applied causal inference, for example on how registry data can be used to correct for selection bias in population-based cohort studies, is also a central theme for the group. EPI@LUND operates and develops research infrastructures for population research, biobanks, bioinformatics and teaching. The work is conducted across the faculties at Lund University and in national and international collaborations. One example is LUPOP - Lund University Population Research Platform - an open, advisory, infrastructure for population research, available to all researchers at Lund University regardless of faculty or research focus.
