Research

Research at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts are carried out at the Inter Arts Center and the three academies: art, theatre, and music. The faculty conducts research in fine art, theatre, music, and music pedagogy. Research in the fine and performing arts is characterized by diverse forms of knowledge and influences from many different areas. The Faculty of Arts also collaborates with other art universities on doctoral education. Communicating artistic research requires special strategies and methods, which may be different for different art forms. Artistic research can for instance be characterized by knowledge arising and being developed in creative interactions and the reflective aspect of the work forms an integral part of the artistic practice. Through this artistic range, the faculty have established itself as one of the internationally leading research institutions in the field of art and music education.
