Unit profile

Research

The Faculty of Science has outstanding research in many different fields. With our nine departments and other units we cover all the major academic fields in science. Examples are research about animal super senses, the development of life on earth and climate change. Further examples are research about future materials, effective medicines, origins of the Milky Way and research about nature's smallest components. New opportunities with MAX IV and ESS are given to the researchers at the Faculty of Science. MAX IV was inaugurated in 2016, and ESS is currently under construction in close proximity to MAX IV.
