Unit profile

Description

The research group led by Professor Kristina Sundquist is based within a dynamic research institute, the CPF (Center for Primary Health Care Research) that was founded on four pillars: clinical, epidemiologic, social science, and experimental research. The research performed by our group is both clinical and epidemiologic, and its main focus is to answer primary health care-related questions. Key research areas include cardiovascular disease, mental and substance use disorders, and how living conditions affect people’s health. The research group has excellent computing capacity, performing epidemiological studies using Swedish national data with precise methods. Research projects are supported by qualified database managers, statisticians, biostatisticians, and GIS experts. The research group analyze blood samples and explore molecular mechanisms in the experimental lab at Wallenberg from our own clinical studies in primary health care in Region Skåne.
