Nursing is a complex process with a variety of factors that affect whether the outcome is person-centered based on the individual patient or user's needs. It is a difficult balance in practice and thus in research. Nursing research must therefore be able to handle all these factors in order to develop evidence-based knowledge that can be translated into practice.
The research group Health Promotion Complex interventions follows the guidelines developed by the Medical Research Council in Great Britain since 2000 for complex interventions. Complex interventions can best be explained as research activities in a 1) Development phase, followed by 2) Implementation and pilot testing, then 3) Evaluation of intervention before 4) Implementation in practice consisting of a number of components that have the potential to interact with each other and which takes into account the amount of factors that can explain the outcome. Research based on complex interventions contributes to the effective development of evidence-based nursing.
