Unit profile

Research

Liver research focus on clinical results and registries, especially liver metastases from colorectal cancer. Biomarker research (cancer tissue) in order to improve diagnosis and targeted therapy. Multimodal treatment concepts are evaluated. Development of novel techniques evaluating the quality of liver parenchyma including tissue perfusion. Pancreatic cancer – identification of novel biomarkers, not at least in risk groups. Target proteins specific for pancreatic cancer and a protein-based test for early diagnosis. Novel tumor-specific biomarkers in cancer tissue will provide possibilities for targeted-tumor-specific treatment. Gallbladder-biliary cancer is studied clinically as well as translationally with identification of novel receptors/biomarkers in tissue and serum for diagnosis, differential diagnoses and targeted therapy. National registry research on gallbladder cancer.
