Unit profile

Research

Currently the focus is on the development of a novel technique where iron oxide nano-particles may be used as a contrast agent for ultrasound. We expect the technique to be useful to put an earlier diagnosis in diseases such as cancer, but also to be an aid for surgeons in localizing diseased tissue. The picture shows a grey scale ultrasound image of a lymph node where particles have been deposited (red/yellow color overlay).
