Unit profile

Description

Research at the Division of Molecular Biosciences covers plant biology, microbiology, genetics and bioinformatics. We study cellular mechanisms related to growth and development, stress response, telomeres, low-oxygen environments and bacterial adaptation. In bioinformatics, we use computational tools to explore large-scale genomic datasets. Our favourite organisms include thale cress, barley, Naumovozyma castellii, Bacillus subtilis, Streptomyces and a wide range of microbes. Our work aims to connect molecular-level understanding with broader biological insights.
