Museology research encompasses examining and understanding the role that museums, cultural heritage institutions, and art establishments have, historically as well as in the current ideological and political climate. Topics and sites include collections and cultural environments, the establishment and management of memory institutions, the design of their operations, digital cultural heritage, processes of digital development, including digitization and digitalization issues, human rights, anti-semitism and xenophobia.
