Unit profile

Description

Our research focuses on clinical and epidemiological aspects of gene-environment interaction in relation to human reproductive function. The clinical base of our research is closely linked to the Reproductive Medicine Centre at Skåne University Hospital, Malmö. This enables us to study both male and female reproduction, separately and in combination. Some important subareas of research include sperm DNA defects, the impact of cancer and cancer treatment on reproductive function, environment and lifestyle in relation to male reproductive function, Anti-Müllerian Hormone as marker of ovarian function, and the impact of maternal and paternal factors on early foetal growth. We are collaborating closely with the Molecular Genetic Reproductive Medicine research group which is doing the genetic part of our research. We are also part of scientific and educational network ReproUnion aiming to make the Öresund area among internationally leading in the field of reproductive medicine.
