Description

In 2009, the government decided to invest in strategic research areas, as part of creating world-leading research, on the recommendation of the Swedish Research Council, Fas, Formas, Vinnova and the Swedish Energy Agency..

Lund University has 11 strategic research areas, the activities of which span virtually all faculties and are often interdisciplinary, for which LU annually receives about SEK 190 million in earmarked funds.
