Research
Welcome to the research group "The Cultural Studies Group of Neuroscience" at Lund University. Our goal is to study the cultural expressions and practices that neuroscience creates in society. We want to know which cultural images of the human and the brain neuroscience today and historically reproduce.
"The Cultural Studies Group of Neuroscience” aims to study the cultural expressions and practices that neuroscience creates in society. We want to know which cultural images of man and his brain neuroscience today and historically reproduce. Our studies are conducted as field work in close collaboration with neuroscientists. This may involve observations in the lab, interviews with neuroscientists and patients, analysis of popular cultural expressions of the research.
Our research team consists of nearly 10 people from various humanistic research areas and includes scientists, graduate students and research assistants. A large part of our research is conducted within the Linnaéus research environment Bagadilico, a ten year project financed by the Swedish Research Council, forming a platform and an interdisciplinary network for research on Parkinson's and Huntington's disease.
