Description

At Vascular Centre, Department of Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, vascular surgeons, vascular physicians, radiologists and nurses are committed to quantitative and qualitative, multidisciplinary and experimental research with focus on diseases of the aorta, mesenteric, carotid and lower limb arteries, and venous thromboembolism. The integration of vascular surgeons and vascular physicians gives the vascular section a leading position within multidisciplinary clinical research of vascular diseases. Research within clinical nursing on patient perspective has been strengthened by collaboration with Malmö University. The vascular section has a long tradition on research of endovascular therapy for aortic diseases and development of imaging and stentgrafts. Multidisciplinary research collaboration has been established with research groups within surgery, anaesthesiology and intensive care, internal medicine, cardiovascular epidemiology and diabetes mellitus.
