Research

I am a public finance scholar and I do research in the field of taxation and public economics. I received my Ph D 2000 on a dissertation called "Limits of Tax Policy", and since then I have done research in the field of taxation  and fiscal policies. Apart from my research and teaching I am invloved in acutal tax policy design and I have been a member of two large public tax commissions - one in Denmark that resulted in lower marginal tax rates, and one in Sweden on corporate taxation. I have also been a member of the Swedisg Fiscal Policy Council. I am currently a member of several research networks as well as research borads for public agencies (e.g. the Swedish Tax Authority, the Tax Academy and the think tank Fores).

I wrote my thesis at University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), and have since then been associated or worked at different research insitutes, including University of Massachusetts, Williams College, University of Santiago, Chile and University of Copenhagen.

      

Currently, I hold a position at the Department of Economics at Lund University and at the Department of Technology and Society at the Faculty of Engineering, Lund University. I am also affiliated at IFN. 

Previously, I have been at Copenhagen University, University of Massachusetts, and University of California Santa Barbara.
