Personal profile

Research

I am a registered nurse, and a posdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Iceland. I completed my Interdisciplinary PhD at Dalhousie University under the supervision of Dr. Patrick McGrath. Prior to my graduate studies I had a clinical career as a registered nurse in Iceland, working mostly in pediatric settings. I am currently collaborating on two projects with Lund University: the eChildHealth project and the Parents Heart project. In the former my role is to explore how culture relates to the implementation and outcomes of eHealth interventions for families of chronically ill children in Sweden, Denmark, and Ethiopia. In the latter, the focus is on the wellbeing of Icelandic families travelling to Lund for their child’s heart surgery. My research interests are parent- and child-health within a cultural (cultural values, health literacy) and eHealth care perspective.
