Research

My research focuses different interventions in the home environments for older people and people with disabilities. This includes both the ordinary housing as well as sheltered housing facilities. Ongoing projects target: Longterm effects of housing adaptations and mobility device use for clients and society; Effects for formal and informal caregivers of using technical monitoring devices in the homes of people with dementia; Fallprevention interventions in sheltered housing facilities. Outcomes are related to the usability of the home, activity, participation, falls, as well as cost-effectiveness. The projects involve client, relative and staff perspectives and include also development of ICT-based educational platforms for staff training and support as well as the development of different implementation strategies for municipality rehabilitation staff.

A second research focus is higher education. This includes: Research use in health care practice among prior masters level students holding a professional certification, such as registered nurses and occupational therapists; and Assessment and examination of courses and learning outcomes
