Personal profile

Research

My research targets removal of micropollutants in wastewater using activated carbon, either in granulated (GAC) or pulverized (PAC) form. Amongst many things, I look at interactions between biological degradatation and adsorption in aged GAC-filters. I'm also interested in optimizing the lifespan of GAC-filters using suitable pre-treatment and/or regeneration. Lastly, I work with the production and characterization of activated carbon, an important area in order to be able to understand which type of carbon to use for a certain application and why.
