Personal profile

Research

I study the interface between syntax and text, with a focus on syntactically segregated elements in complex sentences. My point of departure is punctuation, particularly sentence-internal punctuation marks such as colon, dash and parenthesis, which are reliable delimitors of such segregated elements. I am also interested in translation studies, language policy, language in social media as well as language and gender.

I give popular scientific talks about punctuation, translation and linguistic correctness, and answer questions about language.

Teaching

I teach translation studies, practical translation, text analysis, grammar and Swedish as a foreign language.
